Batman Tattoo
Yesterday I received a nice e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader, named John, who said, “Hey Dude, Love your Bat-Blog. I’m a HUGE Bat-Fan & I gotta share some photos of my new “Heath Ledger Joker” Tattoo. I got my work done at DNA Tattoo in Williamstown, NJ, By artist Dan Craft.” Wow, John! Please tell Dan he did a very wonderful job on the artwork, very nice coloring & shading. Of course it’s the now-famous The Dark Knight movie poster we’re seeing here. Considering your tattoo’s large size it must have hurt like heck! The Joker looks great though & thanks for sending the photos, I appreciate that.
Listen, Angie. Yes, I have but one, somewhat-pathetic Batman tattoo on my hip. And, yes, you’ve got a rather sharp-looking Batman (or Batgirl) tattoo on each hip. But it’s not like it’s a competition, ok?
Well, one time I saw a guy on the street in New York selling bootleg copies of Batman, and that guy totally looked like a bald Tim Burton. So… I guess we’re even on that score.
Taylor Swift Tattoo
We were flipping through gorgeous photos of Taylor Swift from her recent Madison Square Garden concert in NYC when we spotted a GIANT word tattoo down her arm! Take a close look at the photo below:
We hear it's temporary -- and, apparently, she writes song lyrics down her arm for every show. Who knew? This particular lyric ("Bring on all the pretenders. One day we will be remembered.") is from the song "Long Live" off of "Speak Now," her most recent album.
What do you guys think of this Taylor Swift tradition? What one-sentence song lyric do you think is most inspiring (off any album)? Speak now in the comments below.
Relax, moms of young daughters. Taylor Swift does not have a new tattoo. Despite what may look like permanent body art on the darling of country music, we can assure you it washes off.
The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and recent CMT Music Awards Video of the Year winner has been spotted at several recent concerts with script written down her left arm. Upon further inspection, the self-applied Sharpie art is song lyrics from other artists, and it changes from show to show.
Take, for instance, the photo of Taylor above, taken during her Speak Now ... Help Now! tour rehearsal in Nashville on May 21. The country superstar has written down her arm, "You have every right to be a beautiful life" -- a line from friend Selena Gomez's 'Who Says.' Fitting lyrics given that this charity relief concert raised $750,000 for families affected by the devastating tornadoes that ripped through multiple southern U.S. states.
At the opening night of her Speak Now North America tour in Omaha, Neb. (May 27), Swift was spotted with, "You gotta keep your head up, but you can let your hair down" sprawled down her left arm. Those lyrics are from Andy Grammer's 'Keep Your Head Up,' and are also quite appropriate for the entertainer's energetic live show, during which she often swings her signature long blond curls around.
Swift, once again, dawned lyrical body art during her performance at CMA Music Festival Sunday (June 12). The 'Mean' singer paid tribute to fellow country superstars Sugarland during country music's biggest party with the line, "Remember me in ribbons and curls, love your baby girl," from the duo's debut single, 'Baby Girl.'

chris brown tattoo
In 2009, when I interviewed Rihanna for the Guardian, I asked whether she might use her experiences at the hands of ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, to help other victims of domestic violence. Brown had been sentenced some months before, for an attack which, according to police documents, involved him shoving Rihanna's head against a car window, punching her repeatedly in the face, biting her left ear and fingers, and placing her in a headlock until she began to lose consciousness. Rihanna was clear. She would like to help others, she said, but "I don't want that stamp going across my head as a victim of domestic violence. As much as I was, that's a part of my life that I want to throw away, that I never want to go through again."
I thought of that conversation, her wish not to be branded by her experiences, when looking at Chris Brown's new neck tattoo. As many have noted, it looks surprisingly like the image of Rihanna that circulated after that attack, a woman with her eyes bruised, lips split, seriously battered. Sources have told gossip website TMZ that it's not of Rihanna, but "a random woman".
